The Full Story
Welcome to Sew Yarnique — the cozy, chaos-filled corner of the internet where creativity, yarn, and an ever-growing army of plushies happily collide. I’m Kathy, the photographer, website admin, technical support, and general behind-the-scenes human keeping things running — but the real magic comes from my wife, Sorcha, the crocheting mastermind whose amigurumi creations have completely taken over our home.
What started as a simple “You should do what makes you happy!” from me to Sorcha, quickly transformed into a full-scale plushie invasion. One day, we had a couple of cute handmade creatures on a shelf; the next, it looked like a yarn store exploded in our living room. Plushies perched on furniture, gathering in corners, and occasionally judging me from the top of the fridge. Let’s just say Sew Yarnique was born out of love… and the desperate need to reclaim our couch, coffee and kitchen table, among other places.

While Sorcha brings the yarn to life, I photograph the creations, manage the website, upload new arrivals, and occasionally relocate plushies from questionable places (like the stove). And honestly? Watching her creativity flourish is worth every stray googly eye rolling across the table.
